    Description

    This listing is for the 1625 tube Regenerative Receiver that you see in the photos. It comes with plug-in coils and an 8-pin plug-in connector/wiring harness for your power supply.
    The spectrum coverage is continuous, from about 133 khz longwave, continuous to approximately 14.34mhz--using several plug-in coils of the type shown in the photos. So this radio will tune from just below the 2200 meter ham band, up to 20 meters.
    I make these to order, so please allow 8 to 10 days for shipment once your order has been placed. Chassis colors are green, black, gray, blue and red. Please let me know if you have a preference.
    This circuit employs the 1625 transmitting tube, plus a one transistor, built-in headphone amplifier. The radio works great, with good headphone volume. The circuit requires high impedance (2 to 4k ohms) inductive type headphones (not included). You may also use the piezo element type headphones, like the red ones pictured in the photos. These are not included in this package, but available for purchase on one of my other listings.
    Power requirements are 12 to 14 volts dc for the filament and preferably about 20 to 30 volts dc for the regen amp circuit. Please do not use ac voltage for the filament. This is a big no for regen radios, as it will inject ac hum into the audio.
    You do not need a separate power source for the transistor amp. You may opt to parallel the two dc power connections, using only one 12 to 14 volt dc supply, buy you'll get more volume and better regen action if a separate higher dc voltage of 20 to 30 volts dc is used to power the regen/audio amp circuits.
    A wire antenna at least 25 ft. long and a good earth ground (or cold water pipe connection) are required for operation. You'll pick up more stations with a longer antenna, 50 to 100' in length. For best reception on the low end of am broadcast, 630 meter ham, and long wave bands, a base loaded vertical is recommended. Again, a good earth ground is always essential for best performance.
    On shortwave I'm able to copy tons of stations in the early evening and early morning hours, including stations on the amateur radio bands. The fine tuning control will allow you to clarify ssb and cw signals.
    A hand sketched wiring diagram will be provided, along with instructions on where to hook the antenna, power and headphones.
    About 80 to 90% of the parts are new. Since a few of the parts are from good used stock I am listing the radio as used, even though most of the parts are either new or nos. Controls are main and fine tuning, antenna coupling and regen setting.
    I guarantee this radio will work if you hook it up properly with appropriate power supply and a good antenna. These power pentode tubes make great regen receivers and the added one stage transistor amp gives you plenty of headphone volume.
