Hematite is a common iron oxide mineral that is usually found in the form of masses. It usually appears as silver to dark gray in color, and sometimes has reddish streaks cause by the iron oxide. Rainbow Hematite is an iridescent, multi-colored variety, which is caused by a thin coating of aluminum phosphate. While there is a natural version of Rainbow Hematite, it is very rare and not commonly found.
Metaphysical Meaning:
Hematite is a powerful grounding stone, and roots your mind and body back to the Earth. An excellent stone to use when working with the Root Chakra because it will help one stay grounded.
