An authentic soviet army steel helmet, the model called SSh-68 (ssh stands for "Stal'noy shlem" in Russian or a "steel helmet" in English). Made in the USSR. Sold from the soviet military surplus.
The items are in a perfect condition despite the decades of warehouse storage.
New, unissued, never worn or used.
OTK stamped.
Has a unique Soviet warehouse smell and you know what I mean.
SSh-68 (the model of 1968 steel helmet) - is a model of a further development of the SSh-60 general-purpose helmet.
It differs from the prototype by a greater strength, a more inclined front (frontal) wall of the dome and shortened sides, bent outwards. Helmets are dark green. The color of leatherette lining can vary.
The SSh-68 provides protection against non-ballistic impacts (cold steel arms, etc.), as well as steel fragments with a mass of 1.0 gram at a speed of up to 250 m/s.
Helmet SSH-68 was used in the Armed Forces of the USSR and the Warsaw Pact countries. Currently, it is used in most of the CIS countries, as well as in China, Vietnam, North Korea, India and other countries.
Helmet sounds like a шлем or shlem, shliem in Russian.
It can also be called Kaska / Каска ( hard hat in English)
